About Agape

Our Mission:

To serve the hungry, the hurting and the homeless of Warren County

Our Goal:

To meet emergency needs and to provide guidance and referrals which help promote self-sufficiency.

History

Agape Ministry began in the spring of 1996 when several area churches and agencies sought ways to help meet critical needs of Warren County residents. In July of 1996 client assistance began and continues with the support of many churches and community volunteers. A Board of Directors made up of representatives selected by area churches, representatives of community agencies and the Ministerial Alliance provides the planning and decision making guidance for Agape Ministry. Day to day operations are managed by the director.

Persons Served

To receive regular services, a family, regardless of the number of members, must meet income guidelines provided by the State of Missouri. Agape serves all residents in Warren County with the exception of those who live in the Wright City School District. Wright City has its own food pantry and client support services.

Financial Support

Agape is supported financially through individual, church and community group contributions. Booneslick Charities, the United Way, Cuivre River Electric Co-operative, Verizon and Wal-Mart are some of the many supporters of Agape Ministry. Agape Ministry receives and disburses Salvation Army funds raised locally through mail appeals and holiday bell ringing. Agape also applies for grants from a variety of sources for a variety of specific purposes.
